A river city with four roads out of it: a graveyard, a keep of locks and traps, a broken observatory and the wilds to the north. A multi-user role-playing game you play in a MUD client.

Install Mudlet

Mudlet is a free MUD client for Windows, macOS and Linux.
Add the game

In Mudlet's connection window, make a new profile:

Make a character

Connect and type a new name. The game asks for a class, attributes, a weapon skill, a password and a sex.

You start in the Havenford Refuge with 200 shillings. Buy a weapon and armour at the Provisioner before you leave the city.

The map

Every room in Havenford, with its exits, signs and monsters. A route finder gives you the moves from one room to another.

Good to know

The connection isn't encrypted. Your password crosses the network in plain text, so don't use one you use anywhere else.
Characters are saved at second level. Before that, a character is lost when you leave.
Havenford is a beta test world. The game may be restarted or reset while it's being tested.
Any MUD client works, such as TinTin++ or MUSHclient, and so does plain telnet sceptish.pbbgaming.com 4000.
